• Anti-dsDNA titers often rise with lupus nephritis flares and fall with remission.
• Useful for monitoring activity (though not perfect in every patient).
• If you see: ↑ anti-dsDNA + ↓ C3/C4 + new proteinuria/hematuria → think lupus nephritis flare.

Specificity >95%
