Level A evidence - Clinical dementia rating scale ≥0.5
Level B evidence - family report
- if family says pt can’t drive, then trust the family
- don’t trust patient’s self-assessment. If pt says “I can drive”, don’t trust it because their assessment is usually off
Level C evidence - everything else
- MMSE (≥24/30) < 24, N/A for MOCA
- history of driving citations/incidents
- avoidance of driving
- reduced mileage
