

disorder of the brain with an enduring predisposition to generate epileptic seizures and by the neurobiological, cognitive, psychological, and social consequences of this condition; in a patient who has any of the following:

- at least 2 unprovoked seizures occurring >24 hours apart;

- one unprovoked (or reflex) seizure and a probability of further seizures (similar to the general recurrence risk after two unprovoked seizures (at least 60%) occurring over the next 10 years (e.g. abnormal imaging with a potential seizure focus or EEG with epileptiform activity);

- diagnosis of epilepsy syndrome (e.g. West, Dravet, Lennox-Gastaut)
