Brief assessment unit

1. For ppl refuse to engage in cou
2. Can be put inpatient (observe for psycosis)
3. Pt under ORB
   • Type 1: not criminally responsible
   • Type 2: unfit individual (mostly after 60 dys, IDD/NDD)
     • 3 dispositions -> reviewed every year
       • Detention Order
         1. Can leave in community. Housing must be approved.
         2. Can be brought into the hospital for any reasons

       • Conditional Discharge
         1. Need to come in voluntarily/certified through MH charge
       • Absolutely discharged: no longer in the system. Rarely happen for first ORB hearing
