Red Flags

Red = CP - Cerebral Palsy?

• Gross motor:
  • not walking at 18 mo
  • rolling too early at <3 mo → increased muscle tone or primitive reflexes
• Fine motor:
  • Early handedness or preference (<18 mon.) (some sources say 10)
  • no pincer at 1 year
• Speech:
  • Not babbling at 1 year
  • <3 words at 18 mo (some sources say 6)
• Social:
  • not smiling at 4 mo;
  • No interest in peek-a-boo by 9 mo
  • not pointing at 15-18 mo
• Regression (i.e. loss of a previously acquired skill) is a red flag at any age
