• Testing branches (aka peripheral nerve)

• Roots (small and hidden) are harder to test, so commonly tested indirectly via testing peripheral nerves

• ONLY test LARGE fibers (myelinated)

  • sensory
    • Tactile sensation, Light touch, Vibration, Position (DC pathway)
  • Motor

  

  • Small fiber pathway

• Prolonged sensory and motor conduction = Problem
