  • AID (CD4<200)
  • T-cell Deficiency
  • Immunosuppression due to Organ Transplant
  • Malignancy

Presentation

• VERY SLOW, Indolent
  • Lingering Cough and Fever over 3 mon.
• vs. typical pneumonia: usually 1 wk course, sicker

Investigation

• CXR - Chest X ray

  • Diffused infiltration (Patchy) → look like COVID

  • Cysts

    

Management

Prophylaxis

1. TMP-SMX (Septra)

Indications:

• AID (CD4<200)
• Taking Immunosuppression drugs medication and therapy

Treatment

1. TMP-SMX (Septra) : kill off the pathogen
2. Oral Corticosteroid (OCS) : anti-inflammatory (often caused by dead pathogen)
