Etiology
Presentation
History:
- Pain is back-dominant.
- Pain is never increased in back flexion.
- Pain is reproduced or increased in back extension. Pain is always intermittent.
Physical Examination:
- Back-dominant pain – the location on examination matches the location on history. The pain is reproduced or increased in back extension.
- The pain is unchanged or reduced in back flexion.
- The neurological examination is normal or unrelated to the pattern.


Exercise
Postural correction
- Lying down: a large pillow between the legs to elevate the upper knee higher than the hip
Scheduled Rest
Direction specific repetitive movement: 1 rep Q1h, hold for 30s
