• tensing of chordae tendineae, rapid ventricular filling in relatively compliant LV

• Best at the apex, LL

• Normal in YA/children

• Indicate LV dilation, volume-overloaded ventricle

  • Associated with (not caused by) severe Mitral regurgitation
  • HFrEF
