Process

• Snellen chart or LogMAR chart, with results recorded as a fraction (e.g., 20/20 or 6/6).
• Glasses?
  • Under age 40: no need to wear glassess
  • Over age 40: usually need glasses to read
• The numerator refers to the test distance (in feet or meters).
• The denominator represents the smallest letter size a person can see.
• < 20/200 = Legal Definition of Blindness

Pin hole Test

• Acuity: Let them to look through a pin hole
  • Doesn’t improve → think of pathology
  • Improve → focus issue, close-sightedness
