Inspection: RR, Respiratory Distress , accessory m. use, asymmetric chest expanding, asymmetric chest rising (flail chest), bruise, pallor, jugular venous distention (PTX),

Palpation: pain, bony crepitus (rib fracture), subcu. emphysema, tracheal deviation

Percussion: hyperresonance (PTX), hyporesonance (hemothorax)

Auscultation: awake: listen to pt, ask them how they are feeling (SOB?Pain?), listen to the chest

Management: 100 O2, sat probe on, treat TPTX and HTX, get CXR and ABG
