Presentation

(Very general)

HPI

• Fatigue, Malaise, Lethargic (GCS 13–15), N/V - Nausea/vomitting (R/O infection)
• Palpitation, !SOB (Dyspnea), CP - Chest Pain (R/O Cardiac & Resp condition)
  • Consider: acuity of the anemia, pre-morbid state?

Physical Exam

• Pallor , ↑ Tachycardia (>150), Hypotension ↓(<90/60)

Classification

Microcytic Anemia (<80)

Normocytic Anemia (80-100)

Macrocytic Anemia (> 100)

Investigations

1. Is this isolated anemia?

CBC

2. Production problem or peripheral loss?
