Indication

• BMD recommended for (in population at risk)
  • Anyone ≥ 70 yr
  • 65 - 69 + 1 of the Risk Factors for OP Fracture (6)
  • 50 - 65 + 2 of the +Risk Factors for OP Fracture (6)

BMD Cut-off

≤ 50 yo: Z-score (vs. similar age)

• -1 to +1: normal
• -1 to -1.9: Osteopenia
• -2: OP - Osteoporosis

> Age of 70: T-score (vs. younger age)

• < - 2.5 = OP - Osteoporosis
• -1 to - 2.5 = Osteopenia
