Procedure

• **ALWAYS check neurovascular status

• Afterward:

  • Repeat 2 Plane XR (Bone and Joint)
  • Repeat Neuro-vascular Exam Fracture Exam

• Follow-up: 2wk and 6 wk

  Based on 3 phases of fracture healing

  • 2 wk: soft callus formed from reparative, lower risk of !Compartment Syndromes, more stable → can change to circumferential dressing
  • 6 wk (2 mon): hard callus formed from remodelling, ready for rehab

  

  2 wk: change cast from splint to circumferential

• Criteria for healing (ready for rehab)
