1st-line Option

3* AVT targeting 2 different aspects of viral life cycle. Often:

• 2 NRTIs
  • Abacavir
    • A/E: Cardiovascular event, Gell and Coomb's Type IV (Delayed Hypersensitivity)
  • Tenofovir (TDF/TAF) A/E
    • A/E: OP - Osteoporosis , Renal AKI
• 1 INSTIs (’tegravir’)
  • A/E: Nausea, Gl upset, transaminitis, rash, Weight gain, neuropsychiatric conditions, ‣ , Headache
• *some evidence suggest certain two drug regiment, but don't worry about it for now.
• Maximize potency, minimize toxicity
