• Uric acid stones are radio-lucent (cannot see)
• GS: Non-contrast CT -> hyperdensity
• US for children and pregnancy -> hyper-echoic + shadow
• DUS: twinkle article
• CT urogram: filling artifact

Urinary Tract Stones

• Most stones (60-75%) are calcium oxalate
• Other types include calcium phosphate, uric acid (radiolucent), and struvite (infection) stones
• Pain indicates obstruction; non-obstructing stones are typically asymptomatic
• Renal colic presents with severe constant pain, often radiating to groin
