Risk Factors

• !High-Impact Trauma (and other consequences it is associated with)
• Anatomical Position: Humor Shaft Fracture → Like affect Radial Nerve

Tests (Ulnar, Radial, Median)

• Hand Peripheral nerve exam

Management

• If Closed Fracture → Assume Neurapraxia
  • Close reduction suffices. Even if the fracture requires surgery, leave the nerve along
  • Observation: 99% recover by 12 mon.
• If !Open Fracture → Assume Neurotmesis
  • Fracture is indicated for OPIF - Open Reduction Internal Fixation
  • Surgical debridement → Nerve Graft
