1. What Sign and Symptom?

   • Pain → non-specific, not helpful with localization
   • Sensory symptoms:
     • Numbness
     • Paresthesia
     • Allodynia
     • Dysesthesia
   • Motor symptoms:
     • Muscle Weakness
     • Muscle Cramp → non-specific
   • Autonomic symptoms:
     • !BBD
     • Orthostatic hypotension
     • Sweating changes
     • Gastroparesis
     • Erectile Dysfunction

2. Localization - where is the sign/symptom?

   • Myotome vs PNS motor
   • Dermatome vs PNS sensory

     • More dense numbness/ severe weakness = more likely peripheral nerve
     • Deep Tendon Reflexes Map loss in upper body = more likely radiculopathy </aside>

3. Time course

   • Acute: 1 mon
   • Subacute: 1 mon. - 2 yr
   • Chronic: 2 yr
