Etiology

• PTH-dependent ↑Ca
• Benigh tumor of PT → PTH-dependent ↑Ca
  • Most common: Parathyroid Adenoma
  • Parathyroid hyperplasia
  • Very rare: Parathyroid Carcinoma

Tests for Complications

• OP - Osteoporosis (BMD (≥ -2.5), VSA)
• Nephrolithiasis (Abdominal CT)
• PO4 - Phosphate (0.8-1.5 mmol/L**)** low
• Thyroid US , Parathyroid Scan
• Rule out FHH (24 Urine Sample )

Treatment

• Parathyrodectomy
