• Hb > 70 BUT downtrending

• HB > 80 if symptomatic/massive bleeding

  • !Variceal UGIB, !ACS - Acute coronary syndrome

• IDA - Iron Deficient Anemia : Hb < 50

Administration

• For bleeding Pt:
  • Maintain, don’t give too much fluid → Risk of TACO (+ Furosemide (Lasik®))
• Cirrhosis : restrictive transfusion (aim for Hb 70-90)

Target

• 1 unit = 300 ml → Expect ↑ 10 in Hb
