Etiology

• Failure of the conotruncal septum to spiral 180 deg
• Retinoid Embryopathy (Retinoid - (CI: G) use)

Pathogenesis

• Separation of pulmonic and systemic circulation
  • RV → Aorta
  • LV → pulmonary artery

Prognosis

• Deadly if not corrected

Presentation

Signs and Symptoms

• Extremely cyanotic upon birth
• Present better if have concurrent shunting ( R → L, since R is connected to systemic)
  • ASD
  • VSD
  • PDA

Investigation

• Cyanosis → Hyperoxia Test (<150/>250)
