Full Definition

Dementia (also referred to as ‘Major Neurocognitive Disorder’ in the DSM V) is defined:

  1. as an impairment in two or more cognitive domains (most commonly memory plus another domain, such as visuospatial function) → Cognitive Assessments Tools

That is significant enough to cause an impairment in the patient’s daily functioning (ADL, IADL)
