• Streptococcus pyogenes is the Most common GAS species

Acute

• Sore Throat (children) → Pharyngitis
• Pneumonia
• Sydenham’s Chorea
• Scarlet fever

Reactive

• Rheumatic fever → Mitral Valve Stenosis or MR - Mitral Valve Regurgitation
• Acute RPGN (10-14 days post infection)

Sensitive to

• Penicillin G/V
• Amoxicillin
• 1st gen Cephalosporin
