Thrombolysis

For !MI

• Works 60% of the time
• Used when time-to-balloon time BEYOND 90 min + within 3 hours the start of the symptom onset (usually when they entered the ER)
• Completely ineffective after 12 hours
• Observe for 1 hour → rescue PIC if didn’t work (the 40%)
• Can send for PIC a few days later

For !PE - Pulmonary embolism and DVT

• break down old clot - applied when patient is hemodynamically unstable (ABC compromised, life/limb threatening )

For Complicated Parapeumonic Effusion

For !Ischemic Stroke

• Administrated within 4.5 hours of last seen normal
