Presentation

Signs and Symptoms

Symptoms (HPI)

• Mostly asymptomatic → incidental x-ray finding
• Bone Pain
  • Commonly affect: skull, spine, pelvis, long bones

Signs

• !Hypercalcemia - ↑Ca (> 2.5) → PTH-independent ↑Ca

Complications

• Fractures
• OA - Osteoarthritis
• Nerve impingement
• Higher risk of Osteosarcoma

Risk factors

• Older Adult > 65 (RF) (> 55)

Investigation

DDx + Things to rule out

• BONE Metastasis

Tests + Signs

• XR (Radiography) Signs (x4)
• Bone Scan
• ALP (< 120) Elevation → marker of excessive bone formation, non-specific

Management

• Often not treated
